Maybe I should have registered here sooner, or at least tried to look for more reviews on the UNU scooter.
I'm surprised that a brand-new UNU scooter, purchased in April, would have these issues, considering it's still fresh from the factory.
1. The app seems to be super limited in function, and can only lock or unlock your bike
2. The time on the scooter display is not updated.
3. No navigation
4. Range is only 34km by a typical user per battery
5. No Wifi connection, and no way to get it working
They sell new MDB modules on their website https://shop.unumotors.com/products/mdb ... inkl-2-ids
So, would it not be possible for them to change it, or design a new one, so that all the above issues would not exist?
When Emco took over, would they not also own all software and anything else that would make the scooter functional?
I can't believe that the scooters they are selling now have issues that are from 2023.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Wanted to buy one, but your very recent experience kept me from doing so!

Re: 2025 New UNU Pro 4kw But WHY!
- The app supports everything that is possible given that the unu Cloud doesn't exist anymore. Please do tell Emco that they are still promising cloud functionality and maybe they should deliver and make the scooters fully usable again
- The time not updating is due to extremely dumb decisions made by unu engineers - the scooter dashboard gets its time ONLY from the internet. Since all unu scooters are now offline since unu went bankrupt, well, bye bye clock. Emco could fix this if they wanted, but they don't. You can solder in your own SIM card and bring the scooter back online though!
- Navigation was promised by unu and then quietly dropped when they realized it would be expensive to build and license. So, even though your scooter is bought new, it's still suffering from the product and engineering decisions made by unu in ~2018 or so. Btw, you can put your scooter VIN in on https://sunshine.rescoot.org/vin-decoder/ to see when your scooter was actually built - I don't think they are still being made, I think Emco is just selling existing stock.
- That has always been the range, you cannot trust vendors' claims. I'm sure you can reach the advertised 50km if you weigh < 50kg, strong winds from the back, and don't accelerate over 15km/h and never brake!
- Why would you expect a Wifi connection in a scooter? I think that is something that not even unu have ever claimed...
Anyhow, yeah, unu made a ton of questionable decisions on the Scooter Pro, and Emco are definitely not set up _or willing_ to make any improvements.
