Hello to all,
this topic is following the topic of "Ecoflash Reichweite 20km nach 3000km und kein GEWÄHRLEISTUN"
I just saw it at ATU make baterries 12V 35AH at .... 30 € (basic batteries are 12V 38Ah)!Given the state of the situation with my roller (ie, not ready to put 400 to 500 € per year in batteries) I wonder if it could work...
So nasty and stupid questions:
- The roller will work? Less power? Equal autonomy? Because, if I understood the basic electricity, a battery 38Ah means 38A may supply ... in 1 hour (damn i am really good today in mental arithmetic) or 19A for 2 hours ... etc.. So a 35AH battery can be posting the same current than a 38Ah but during less time,or automony remains the same but with less power ... What determines whether you lose in power or autonomy?
Just for my info: 38Ah, it means 38A for 1 hour or 38A in 1 hour? That may be as jerky as a question but for me Ampere is a flow of electrons ... yes, if we take the metaphor with a cylinder, power is given by the following formulas:
Power = F * V (F = cylinder force, V = velocity of the cylinder)
Power = P * Q (Q = flow (which will give you the speed of the output shaft) and P = pressure (which will give you the strength of the shaft))
Now if you consider that in electricity, the pressure corresponding to the voltage and current to flow, the intensity is a number of electrons per second (translated in amp) ... so:
- 38A for 1 hour: it means 38 amps ("electron" per second) for 1 hour? (In this case, since there are 4 12V batteries in parallel, we have P = U *I= 48 * 38 = 1824W for 1 hour ... 1824KWh...)
-38A in 1 hour, it means you have to leave in 1hr 38A? 38/3600 = 0.01 A (electron per second) => 48 * 0.01 = 0.48 W. .. Well, I know the answer! but to be sure that I understand everything ....
- What about charging, you can keep the charger the same than 38Ah?
Well, i am sure to get an answer from you...this forum is really efficient in term of quality anf speed of information!
All the best!

Batteries 12V 35Ah instead of 38Ah @ 30€!!!
Re: Batteries 12V 35Ah instead of 38Ah @ 30€!!!
If the battery fits.poupou hat geschrieben:- The roller will work?
Less internal resistance of the battery = more powerful.What determines whether you lose in power or autonomy?
More Ah = (usually, not always as the are other factors too) more autonomy.
Exchange one with 1A x 38 hours.Just for my info: 38Ah, it means 38A for 1 hour or 38A in 1 hour?

In very simple theory: both.
But in practice the capacity depends on the current drawn. Usually measured over 100 hours. So 38Ah = 0.38Ah for 100 hours.
Yes, if it is the same kind (chemical) of battery.- What about charging, you can keep the charger the same than 38Ah?

A couple of weeks, with a maximum range of 10-15km till the voltage drops down below 11V, when you will start to damage the battery.poupou hat geschrieben:- The roller will work?
You probably do think, that EV Users are a bunch of jerks, buying > 100€ batteries ....
Tell you what, get used to the costs.
Use Google for Peukert effect, discharging rates and so on and you won´t do silly calculations like the one above anymore. There are a lot of english forums, where they did explain basics more than a million times.
Since you did not even understand this simple message:
If you are planning to use your next set of your 40Ah lead acids regulary 40kms or more, I doubt you´ll find some, which do last longer than the Greensavers did. If you intend to go more than 30kms regulary, you should switch to Li or Nicads (e.g. Saft, but they do need maintance and some experience you ain´t got).
Conclusion: You need to learn about lead batteries. I strongly recommend STWs comments on this issue. There are some english forums too, where you can learn about real ranges, capacity , lifetime which usually differs from sellers ads and producers specs. 3 l : less range, less capacity and less lifetime.....
